Atech Composites
Founded in 2000, advanced composites technology experts Atech Composites are responsible for producing the hull, decks and superstructure of every Horizon yacht built. Operating from a 249,070 square feet, ISO-certified lamination facility serviced by 210 employees -- including a dedicated R&D composites team -- Atech holds the distinction as the first FRP corporation in Asia to be licensed to use the patented SCRIMP (Seemann’s Composites Resin Infusion Molding Process) technology. Atech utilizes the patented SCRIMP and VARTM (Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding) process to laminate each hull in a single shot, including the stringer system, which gives the finished product more strength and durability without compromising weight or performance.
Atech’s professional lamination team utilizes the most advanced machinery in the construction of each hull. In the in-house laboratory, a multi-purpose 10-ton material testing machine verifies the mechanical properties of all the composite materials supplied and conducts comprehensive testing of composite materials and new products.
Atech continuously pursues the latest technological advances in the field of composites and has recently applied the company’s composites expertise to outside fields such as the aerospace industry, high speed trains, and the manufacturing and repairing of wind blade turbines with a GL certification. Atech is the only specialized composites factory in Taiwan with the capacity to produce large-scale FRP components for land, marine, aviation and green energy industries.
