The New Horizon FD77 Skyline Nears Completion
Anticipating a debut at the 2019 Palm Beach Boat Show in March, work on the first Horizon FD77 Skyline is nearing completion. This new FD77, which is the latest and smallest of the acclaimed Fast Displacement Series, is an open bridge configuration currently undergoing dock testing on all equipment and systems.
Specified to accommodate owner operation, the FD77 joins the FD85, FD87 Skyline, FD102 Skyline, and the FD125 Skyline and retains the same styling and spacious characteristics of her larger sisters, but comes wrapped in a compact package that affords ease of operation and excellent seakeeping capabilities. An impressive nine-month construction time further underscores Horizon’s professional R&D and naval architecture capabilities, which allowed the precise prediction of the waterline inclination of this brand new model.
Embodying the versatility and space that characterizes the FD Series, the first FD77 Skyline has been specified for the American market and features a four-stateroom layout with an on-deck master and beach club. Unobstructed views enhanced by a folding glass balcony door in the salon and large sections of glass throughout keep the interior light and airy. The casually elegant and modern décor features wood flooring, white oak wall paneling, and sumptuous furnishings offset by white lacquer overhead paneling with satin black lacquer trim. A floating staircase backed by a laminated glass wall leads to the open bridge above and the three staterooms below. This model showcases a spacious open bridge with a fixed windshield, while an enclosed version is an alternate option.
Sea trials are planned for early January before the first FD77 Skyline makes her way to the U.S. for her grand debut in Palm Beach March 28-31, 2019. Enjoy a virtual tour of the FD77 Open Bridge and Skyline versions by clicking HERE.
