The Horizon V68 Makes a Splash at Seattle Boat Show
Nine sunny days marked the 2019 Seattle Boat Show. The largest in-water boat show on the West Coast, the annual Seattle Boat Show is an important event for Horizon, who traditionally unveils a new yacht at the show each year. This year it was hull two of the new Jonathan Quinn Barnett-designed Horizon V68 that stole the show, and guests were invited aboard by Horizon partners Emerald Pacific Yachts.
It was the V68’s beach club — the first ever displayed at the Seattle Boat Show — that drew the immediate attention of onlookers, who remarked on its versatility of use as a beach club, a place for kids to sleep, or as a storage space. The innovative seating arrangement at the bow and the overall flybridge arrangement with a day head also impressed many. On the aft deck, visitors were taken with the opening window and folding door that opens completely to join the aft deck with the salon, which was admired for its open layout.
As guests toured forward, they would enter the open galley and step onto the heated marble floors, which always produced a smile. On the lower deck, the open foyer evoked positive comments from everyone, especially as they entered the master stateroom through double doors. As they toured the other staterooms they remarked on the detailed woodwork and appreciated the overall feel of the interior thanks to the 19’6” beam. A video playing on the large salon TV of the V68 effortlessly cruising through the water at 20-25 knots further solidified the yacht’s appeal.
With the passing of each sunny day, word of the amazing new V68 spread. Many from the boating industry toured the boat as well as several competitors, and they all said the same thing: Horizon built a winner!
