Horizon FD80 Hull 4 Launches
Showcased among five other brand-new Horizon yachts, the latest FD80 made a grand entrance at the 2020 Horizon Open House, held January 14-16, 2020.
The fourth hull of the FD80 model –which was originally named FD77 and debuted at the 2019 Palm Beach Boat Show – features a Skyline (enclosed bridge) configuration and accommodates eight guests in four staterooms, including an on-deck master.
Boasting a 6.90m beam, the FD80 Hull Four has been fitted out with light Oak woodwork with dark Wenge accents. Accessed through fully opening folding glass doors, the main salon offers a sumptuous L-shaped settee to port with a convertible breakfast/dining table to starboard. A dayhead is situated aft and large windows invite in copious amounts of light. The fully equipped galley is located forward to port and features a pass-through window/bar that can be closed off for privacy.
The on-deck master stateroom spans the full beam and features a skylight above the bed. A frosted glass door provides additional privacy to the en suite. Accessed through a large foyer, two VIP staterooms and one convertible twin are situated forward on the lower deck, while crew quarters and a beach club are found aft of the amidships engine room.
On the bridge deck level, a semi-walkaround side deck leads from the boat deck with a bar area to the foredeck with seating and sunning areas. Powered by twin MAN V8 engines of 1,200hp each, this model is expected to be another successful Horizon yacht for the Australian market, notably for its owner/operator capability, High Performance Piercing Bow and hull design, and voluminous interior space.
