Horizon Sells Sixth V68
A new Horizon V68 has been sold and is now in build for an experienced and repeat Horizon owner. Created in collaboration with world-renowned designer Jonathan Quinn Barnett (JQB), it is the sixth V68 sold since the model was introduced.
The V68 is fitted with the amenities of a large yacht in a size that can be easily run by a couple or small family.
The client was seeking a voluminous yacht in the mid-size range that would suit summer cruising with family and friends and selected the V68 design for its wide 6m beam, three-stateroom-plus-crew layout, and numerous outdoor entertaining areas. The main deck will feature a bar area with refrigerator drawers and an icemaker on the aft deck that opens into the main salon. Outfitted in a modern aesthetic with White Oak wood with Silver Oak accents, the main salon will see a dayhead situated aft and a comfortable seating area with a starboard-side galley fitted with a dinette forward.
For the upper deck, the owner selected an enclosed skylounge configuration and customized the boat deck to include an L-shaped BBQ area with a fridge and icemaker with a sunbed to port and L-shaped seating to starboard. Both the boat deck and the foredeck will be fitted with sunshades.
On the lower deck, the master suite will encompass the full beam amidships, with a convertible twin forward to starboard and a VIP queen furthest forward in the bow. Quarters for two crew are positioned aft of the engine room housing the twin CAT C18 1,136hp engines and twin Onan 21.5kW generators.
Immediately striking in appearance thanks to a plumb bow design, the V68 features a hull design by Stimson Yachts of New Zealand. The unique vertical bow affords a generous beam and reduces drag at lower, displacement speeds. The larger hull beam not only makes for greater stability and increased interior spaces but also provides a superior cruising experience that is further aided by the ZeroSpeed stabilizers and bow and stern thrusters.
Now under construction, the latest V68 is on schedule to deliver to her owner in the Summer of 2022.
