Horizon V68 sold and in build
The high-volume design of the Horizon V68 and plentiful options for customization and entertainment drew first-time Horizon owners to the Jonathan Quinn Barnett-designed model, a beamy owner/operator vessel fitted with numerous superyacht amenities.
This is not only the first Horizon for the owners, but also their first semi-custom yacht build. The sale marks the seventh hull of the model, which offers clients the option of an enclosed skylounge or open flybridge layout with three staterooms and space for crew.
The newest Horizon V68 will feature an enclosed skylounge configuration, which will be fitted with a dayhead, workspace and lounge area that converts to a bed. The complete helmstation with dual Stidd helm chairs is forward. The clients prioritized onboard entertainment and fitted the boat deck aft with a bar and grill. When the tender is deployed, the space opens up for additional lounging and socializing under custom sun shades.
On the main deck, the owners designed the aft deck area with a dining table with a folding leaf, custom gates to the 1500lb hydraulic swim platform, and a bar with a window that opens into the salon. Folding doors further open the aft deck to the salon, which will feature a spacious seating area with a large l-shaped settee. The galley was an area of focus for these clients, who desired a convivial space for socializing and entertaining. The focalpoint here is a large island with three counter stools and a custom fold-up piece for extra counter space when needed. Nestled under the windows forward, a U-shaped settee wraps around the dining table with a folding leaf for additional flexibility.
Comfortable guest accommodations further define the V68’s design, and these clients specified three staterooms on the lower deck, comprised of a full-beam master ensuite, convertible twin ensuite cabin to starboard, and VIP ensuite in the bow. Accessed from the lower deck foyer which houses a large linen locker and washer/dryer, the master stateroom features a grand double-door entry and a walk-in closet as well as a vanity and drawers.
Uniquely for a mid-range yacht, the Horizon V68 offers the option for crew quarters for two with a head aft of the engine room, which houses the yacht’s CAT C18 engines of 1,150hp each. This V68 will be equipped with Zero-Speed stabilizers, a 900gpd watermaker and 30kW Northern Lights gensets.
Now in build, the newest Horizon V68 is on schedule to deliver to her owners in the Summer of 2023, after which they plan to take her on an extended cruise.
