Sixth Horizon FD75 Launched
A new Horizon FD75 has launched and will soon be delivered to a repeat Horizon owner. This is the second FD75 to showcase the enclosed bridge (Skyline) configuration and the sixth unit of this successful model.
As the entry-level model in Horizon’s acclaimed Fast Displacement (FD) Series, which spans to 125 feet, the FD75 is distinguished from other yachts of similar LOA by a high-volume interior that yields a flexible four-stateroom layout with an on-deck master, and superior comfort and stability afforded by Horizon’s in-house High Performance Piercing Bow and hull design.
Having previously built a Horizon E73, this client returned to Horizon to build the FD75 and specified a customized layout with innovative details throughout. This customization begins on the aft deck, where dedicated storage areas for items such as a boarding ladder and cleaning supplies have been incorporated. The dining table in this space has been designed to expand, rise and lower to suit a variety of uses. A custom entry door leads into the main salon, highlighted by a large custom sofa fitted with storage underneath and a coffee table with a lift mechanism that also offers storage. A dayhead is situated to port, and the remainder of this area features a custom cabinet/bar area with a Hi/Lo television, an icemaker, wine cooler, and bottle storage.
Uniquely for this model, the galley is positioned furthest forward on the main deck, thereby eliminating the standard raised pilothouse design and presenting an open-plan feel to the main deck. A custom dining table accommodates interior dining adjacent to the fully equipped open galley area, which features a large island and atrium ceiling.
The owner specified a Modern Beach House design style throughout, with White Oak and Silver Oak wood accents and the furniture, stone and soft goods in a neutral color palette. Unique elements such as a wood batten design on the main deck and in the skylounge add visual interest and a light wood floor enhances the open feel of the main deck.
The master stateroom and ensuite is positioned furthest forward and accessed via a few steps down from the galley area. This space has been customized with a vanity, multiple full-height hanging lockers, a custom leather chaise lounge and a fold-down television above the bed. Three further ensuite staterooms are found on the lower deck and comprise a midship VIP, a single twin to port and a queen stateroom to starboard. Crew quarters including a cabin, head and mess area feature aft of the engine room.
Positioning the wheelhouse on the upper deck allowed for a re-design of this entire space, which is enclosed to comprise the helmstation, a full head and a lounge settee with dinette. A Hi/Lo cushion insert for the dinette and a sliding enclosure top for the stairwell allows this area to be used as an overflow stateroom.
Storage has been considered throughout this new FD75, including on the boat deck where excess long-term storage freezers have been incorporated beneath an opening window from the skylounge.
Specified at an overall length of 73 feet to accommodate the owner’s slip requirement, this new FD75 will soon be delivered to her owner.
